Charles Liang founded Supermicro and has served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since our inception in September 1993. Mr. Liang has been developing server system architectures and technologies for the past two decades. From July 1991 to August 1993, Mr. Liang was President and Chief Design Engineer of Micro Center Computer Inc., a high-end motherboard design and manufacturing company. From January 1988 to April 1991, Mr. Liang was Senior Design Engineer and Project Leader for Chips & Technologies, Inc., a chipset technology company, and Suntek Information International Group, a system and software development company. Mr. Liang has been granted many server technology patents. Mr. Liang holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University of Science & Technology in Taiwan.

Mark Long was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer in October 2026. Before taking on this role, he previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer of Western Digital, where he led financial management, investor relations and corporate strategy. At Western Digital, Mr. Long played a leading role in the company’s strategic transformation, including the integration of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST), and major industry transactions such as the $19 billion acquisition and integration of SanDisk Corporation. Prior to joining Western Digital, Mr. Long led strategy and corporate development for HGST, playing a key role in the turnaround and eventual sale to Western Digital. Mr. Long most recently served as co-founder and Partner of Prime Impact Capital, a technology-focused investment firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Long held senior roles in corporate development and investment banking focused on the software, cloud infrastructure and storage sectors. Mr. Long has a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, where he co-founded the Michigan Technology Law Review.

Vik Malyala is the Chief Business Officer. Vik joined Supermicro in 2009 and has played a key role in shaping Supermicro’s global strategy, growth, and innovation. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Technology & AI and President & Managing Director of EMEA at Supermicro. With nearly 30 years of experience in product engineering, ASIC development, and technology leadership, Vik brings deep expertise in semiconductors and high-performance systems. A former design engineer at Serverworks (later acquired by Broadcom), he has led Supermicro’s advancements in AI, HPC, and sustainable data center technologies, including energy-efficient solutions such as liquid cooling. Vik has played a meaningful part in fostering strategic partnerships with industry leaders to strengthen Supermicro’s Total IT Solutions portfolio. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho and a B.S. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Osmania University.

Matthew Thauberger is the Chief Revenue Officer. Matthew joined Supermicro in 2020 and previously served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. With more than two decades of global leadership experience across North America, EMEA, and Asia, he has led international sales, strategic partnerships, and market expansion initiatives for some of the industry’s leading infrastructure and AI computing organizations. Prior to Supermicro, Matt served as Vice President of Sales at Burlywood, Inc. and General Manager of U.S. Sales at Inspur Systems, and he held multiple executive leadership roles at AMAX, including Vice President of Global Sales and General Manager of EMEA Operations. Matt attended San Francisco State University.

Mr. Xiao is a Senior Corporate Vice President of Engineering and directs a broad portfolio including software engineering and product development, switch development, lab validation, and global IT operations. Xiao joined Supermicro in 2001 as a Staff Hardware Design Engineer and has since played a pivotal role in scaling the Company’s product portfolio and technical infrastructure. Prior to joining Supermicro, Tom served as the Assistant General Manager of R&D at Lenovo QDI. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Automation from the Harbin Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
